I think my mother may have missed her calling to be a medical researcher.
Today she's been reading about Leaky Gut Syndrome--and it seems to explain a lot of my symptoms. It has been linked to auto-immune diseases, chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, and other conditions.
We'll ask the rheumatologist about this on Tuesday. It sounds like a major possibility to me.
pleeeeeease a diagnosis!

Wow, that is exciting! With all the internet research I did trying to figure out possibilities for my niece I never came across that one. I'm going to look into it for her too. Also look up Porphyria and see what you think of that one. -Patty
ReplyDeleteI did come across Leaky Gut in my research. However, I ruled it out because a lot of people that propose that it is linked to auto-immune disease also happen to sell things that strengthen your stomach lining. Solid evidence of a causative link does not yet exist. Most of the problems exhibited by Leaky Gut can be cleared up by antibiotics and I don't feel that's the case here.

ReplyDeleteI agree with JohnMark (or possibly Lee, whoever wrote the above post). Nothing is certain until it's proven by tests.
